March Favourites!

Maybelline baby lips in Cherry Me

It feels great on my lips and gives them a fresh wash of reddish pink...I'm actually quite obsessed with this lip balm right now, I always keep it with me in my bag. The formula is not greasy or overly glossy. Perfect enough to give off a very subtle natural looking shine. Great product to throw in your purse when your in a rush. Its moisturizing, affordable and comes in cute colourful tubes and several different flavours.

That's what it looks like on the lips =O
Benefit Porefessional

I got a sample of this to try out and this stuff is awesome!  I can tell the difference in my skin the second I put this on! It minimizes the appearance of my pores , improves the texture of my skin and gives your make up a smooth surface to work with. I use it over moisturizer but under my all over face primer. It does have a scent, but I personally don't get bothered by it. It glides beautifully on the skin and has a powdery finish.

It has mattifying properties as well but for me, the staying power of that wasn't too great cause I still had to blot my face after few hours of application. Not a big issue cause I have my No. 7 shine free primer for that.

It is expensive but its made to specifically target pores and not be used as an all-over face primer so use it only where your pores are visible. A little bit goes a long way so the product should last you a long time. I've been using the sample size for the past 5 months and I still have a lot left O_O I do intend to purchase the full size product soon!

Estee Lauder Double Wear stay-in-place make up in the shade Ivory Beige

I will be doing a review on this soon :) but just a brief overview of the product: I dont necessarily prefer a full coverage foundation, but if you have the choice to purchase a full coverage foundation v/s a sheer one for the same price, id make the best out of my money and get the full coverage one.

I've heard fab reviews about this product so i really wanted to try it out and I'm so glad I did! This is an amazing product, super duper long lasting (through sweat, unfavourable weather conditions such as rain/snow/wind/whatever) and offers great coverage.

However, if your a fan of natural looking makeup, then maybe you won't like this product so much because it will look like you have make up on. Now I don't mean that in a bad way, it does give you a very polished look but I figured id include that as a side note. Oh, and unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this product for people who have dry skin, because it will just accentuate the flakiness of your skin and make it very visible. Though if you trust your heavy duty moisturizer wholeheartedly, it wont hurt to give it a try :)

NYC Smooth skin bronzer in Sunny

I picked this up after hearing some of the beauty people on youtube rave about this stuff. This is actually one of those products that really does live up to all the hype. The packaging is decent, I'm not very picky about that. I like the huge mirror it comes with.  Its a fairly pigmented matte bronzer that costs less than $3 bucks. Its a light brown colour that doesn't oxidize and turn orange throughout the day. Looks very natural and subtle when applied and the staying power is fantastic.  Its oil free so it doesn't break me out either.

Its a steal for the price. Ever since I bought this, I haven't even touched my Two faced aqua bronzer D:

Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Tipsy

I love blushes so I'm always trying out different brands to see how I like them. I love it love it love it and cant wait to pick up the rest of the shades. Its the perfect matte coral shade for spring and summer although theres no reason why you cant use this blush year roundThey blend so seamlessly and easily onto the skin and the pigmentation is fantastic! The color does look a little extreme in the pan, but trust me, it can be applied sheerly or built up if you want a more dramatic look. The colour is just gorgeous and really brightens up the face <3 cant rave enough about this stuff!

This does wear longer than any of my other blushes, as promised. And when applied with a light hand, it gives a 'she's born with it' kinda flush. SO PRETTY! (I applied it a little generously so the camera would pick up the colour)

Physicians Formula Lash boosting mascara

Maybelline Color Tattoos in Bad to the bronze
LOVE ITTTTTTTT!
I did a review on these here :)

Revlon lip butters in Lollipop
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love all of them but I find myself reaching out more for this one in particular cause its wearable during the day time and goes with everything. I do think the colour is a bit too bright for every day use so I usually apply a clear lip balm first and then a light layer of lollipop over it. I find that doing so results in a more sheer application that looks more natural instead of giving you a WOAH too-bright-for-school look.

Spring 2012 makeup trends

Enchanting Eyes
If your eyes are your favourite feature, define it in a way that no one will be able to look away!

1. To brighten up your eyes, swipe any bright eyeshadow of your choice all over the lid: You can stick to the traditional champagne/peach colour with an iridescent finish that give your eyes extra twinkle or you can choose a fun, bright shade (bold golds/yellows) to really play up your look.

2. To make the lid colour pop, dust a warm brown shadow just above the crease and blend it out nicely.  :)

3. Frame your eyes by applying a creamy eyeliner pencil like the Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero ($18) along your top and bottom lash line and then setting it with a black eyeshadow. Or if you prefer a bolder look, opt for a smudge proof liquid liner instead.

TIP: Applying a peach waterproof eyeliner in your waterline can make your eyes appear brighter, as opposed to a white eyeliner that can look a little too harsh.

4.  Give your eyes an extra boost by applying a volumizing mascara to your lashes to make them appear super lush :)
TIP: Take it a step further by swiping two coats of electric blue mascara on top and bottom lashes for a fun little twist. Of course in this case, go a lil easy on the eyeshadows. You don't wanna look like a freak @_@

Sunkissed cheeks:

1. Give your face a beachy vibe by sweeping a bronzer on areas of your face that naturally get sun -  your cheeks, forehead, temples, the bridge of your nose and along your hairline.

2. A light application of a Peachy/Coral blush on the apples of your cheeks gives you an innocent flush and will blend well with the bronzer to give you a beautiful, summery glow.

3. Get a lit-from-within look by applying a highlighting powder or a cream highlighter along the tops of your cheekbones to brighten up your whole complexion.

bear with this picture until i can take a better one where the highlight shows through O_O
Bright lips<3 - bold shades are definitely in this season, so don't be afraid to experiment with bright lip colours!

1. The secret to a flawless pout: Softer, smoother lips. They absorb colour better and will allow the colour to stay on longer. So prep your lips with a hydrating lip balm before you apply your lipstick/lip tint.

my adorable lil EOS lipbalm<3

2. To enhance your complexion, go for a soft pink or melon lip gloss/lip tint/lipstick (whatever you prefer). Unlike, nude/peachy lip tints that can wash you out, little bit of some colour will add life to your face.
TIP: for slightly darker skin tones, a berry lipstick will look stunning! May I recommend Revlon Colorburst lip butter in Red Velvet<3

3.  If your lips are on the small side, fake fullness by outlining your lips with the same colour lipliner as your lipstick. And after you've applied your lipstick, apply some gloss on the center of your top and bottom lips to make them look more plump.
TIP: Dab a little bit of a highlighting concealer on your cupids bow to define the shape of your top lip.
